Begin with the method the machine actually uses

Use manufacturer dimensions when available, but check your actual location too. A quoted footprint usually describes a static object, not every position it occupies during use. Include room to step back and to remove the receiving container without reaching across the cutting area.

A pre-use sequence that keeps the blade out of the experiment

  1. Read the installation section for the exact model and identify its required parts.
  2. Choose a suitable level support and clear the surrounding workspace.
  3. Keep cutting components protected or secured as instructed during assembly.

When the base moves during a cut

Stop applying cutting force. Keep hands out of the food path and secure the mechanism using the manufacturer's procedure. Do not reach under a loaded blade to adjust a clamp or press a suction foot back into place.
